Craigslist PVA (Phone Verified Accounts)

How it Works

The numbers we provision are VOIP numbers, they work like normal phone numbers, but they are not in Craigslist’s select database of pre-authorized phone numbers.  As a result you can and should register your Craigslist account using your iNumbr, but expect that the initial verification call will not ring through.

We offer an easy solution that many of our customers use.  If your Craigslist verification call fails - you can simply call Craigslist using our outbound caller ID feature.  This feature allows your iNumbr to ring up in Caller ID for your outbound calls.  

When you call Craigslist, simply inform customer service that your verification call was not received and you would like to verify the number you are calling from.  They will verify the number for you at that time (generally the whole process takes just a couple minutes).

There are instructions in the FAQ at that provide guidance for using outbound Caller ID as well as providing the number to call for Craigslist.  Some customers verify many numbers, some only one.  Each number only needs to be verified one time with your Craigslist account.

We have recently added a feature that allows you to call right from your iNumbr account.  This simplifies the dialing process for users who want to use the outbound caller ID service frequently without calling through our privacy service.

Setting Up Your Craigslist Account

  1. 1. Choose your iNumbr
  2. 2. Use your number to create a PVA account on Craigslist
  3. 3. Call Craigslist using our outbound caller ID service (if your verification fails), and request a manual verification  (Craigslist’s number is: (800) 664-0633)

Using iNumbr in your outbound caller ID

Option 1:  Call using any phone

  1. 1. Login and navigate to the “Settings” tab
  2. 2. Click to edit  “Outbound Caller ID Privacy”
  3. 3. Choose a  4 digit PIN, and click update
  4. 4. Call our caller ID service at (415) 997-8944 and follow the prompts

Option 2:  Call from our web site

  1. 1. Go to the Outbound Caller ID Privacy section (under the “Setting” tab)
  2. 2. Enter the phone number you want to call
  3. 3. We will call your phone and connect it to the number you submit – using your Phone Dynamo number in the caller ID
